***FOR THE SAFETY OF STAFF AND CATS, ALL FERAL CATS MUST ARRIVE IN TRAPS.***
Orange County Humane Society operates a spay/neuter/vaccination program for community cats (unsocialized or shy of humans/and or unowned, free-roaming) cats. Trap, Neuter, Return or TNR for short is endorsed by the Humane Society of the United States, the ASPCA and many others as an effective, humane way of controlling the cat overpopulation and improving the quality of the cat communities.
Cats are humanly trapped, sterilized, vaccinated for rabies, treated for injuries & provided pain injection and ear tip (top portion of left ear removed while cat is under anesthesia) Ear tipping is the universal sign that the cat has been sterilized.
The program is available to Orange County citizens. We now have a monthly transport van that will pick up cats at an Orange County location, take them to vet clinic & return them the following day so the cats can stay all night in the comfort of the climate controlled clinic.
For more information about TNR & to borrow traps please call OCHS @ (540) 672-9760 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
This is a service provided for Orange County citizens but if you can afford to make a donation or pay $25 per cat, please do so. This helps us provide the service to those cat caretakers who truly can’t afford to contribute.
Thank you for your support.
